Trackback Spam Killer

Trackback spam is when someone leaves a trackback to a post on your blog without bothering to link to you in the first place.

It is considered quite rude and certainly it’s not something you should be doing to other bloggers (unless you want to get a bad reputation).

But people will persist in doing it to you.

Usually, to make sure you were not the victim of trackback spam, you would have to manually visit the blog that had left a trackback on your blog and manually search for the link that they should have given you.

Depending on the theme of the blog, that could take quite a while - especially if the links were the same colour as the text or the layout was a pain to read.

Well, as of yesterday, there is a very handy new plugin that can take this headache away.

WatchMyBack24 is a great little plugin that will automatically check that there is a link to your blog from the other blogs that leave trackbacks. If the link is not there then the trackback will fail and you will have no illegitimate trackbacks on your blog.

That is a great little time saver.
