Performancing Metrics
The guys at Performancing have come out with the beta for their new project - Performancing Metrics… and it rocks!
I am astounded at how these guys continue to produce incredibly useful tools.
Metrics, as the name would suggest is a statistics package, especially designed for bloggers.
Now, I usually use AWStats as my preferred stats package, but I must say that I think I will be switching to the Perfomancing package for all of my blogs.
Why?
Well, Perfomancing Metrics has most of the statistics that AWStats has plus a bit more.
It gives you visitors, referrers, search engine stats, post views, geographic location of readers etc etc. - all stuff that you can get in standard stats packages.
There are also a lot of stats extras - for example, it records clicks on your Adsense ads, including the specific page that the click came from (VERY nice to know, if you can’t be bothered setting up Adsense chanels for every specific page of your site). It also records comments on your posts, stats for each category of your blog and which outbound links people are click on.
It therefore goes well beyond other standard stats packages.
And it has one MAJOR advantage over other stats packages. It is REAL TIME!! This is fantastic for bloggers who often get traffic surges that last for only a few hours. Performancing Metrics gives you a way to monitor these surges when they are happening (you can then use your imagination to take advantage of them).
In the end, I think this statistics package will become the default stats reference for bloggers.
And one other amazing thing about this package - Performancing Metrics is free.
